With any knitwear garment, such as cotton/cashmere, lambswool, merino or merino/cashmere styles, we would usually expect for small fibres to come to the surface of the fabric forming bobbles, otherwise known as piling. As with any natural fibre fabric, this is completely normal, particularly in areas that are subject to more friction for example sleeves and across the chest where a seatbelt has been worn. We would also expect for the majority of piling/bobbling to incur in the early life of the garment, this should then improve/reduce the more you wash, wear and enjoy your piece of knitwear.
When piling/bobbling does occur, this is easily remedied with the use of a cashmere comb, and should be considered part of the frequent care of the garment.
