HUNTER BOOTS FIT GUIDE

Hunter boots come in two distinct fits: Original and Field. Hunter Original boots are great for everyday wear, whether that’s splashing through puddles or trudging through the mud at music festivals. Hunter Field boots are practical boots that are entirely fit for purpose. Previously referred to as the Hunter Argyll boots, these hardwearing wellies are specifically designed for working and tackling rough terrains.

Hunter Wellington boots fit true to size, if you are usually between sizes, Hunter recommend going one size up.

HOW TO MEASURE

Step 1: Stand up straight on a hard surface with your heel against the wall and a piece of blank paper taped to the floor, flush against the wall beneath your foot.

Step 2: Have someone mark the longest part of your foot (referred to as heel-to-toe length) on the paper with a pen or pencil or measure yourself if necessary. Repeat with the other foot, as right and left sizes may be different.

Step 3: Measure the longest part of your foot, taking the measurement from the back of your heel to the end of your big toe. Women should add 6mm to this measurement to allow for movement and room when the boot is used, men should add 8mm. This combined measurement will be your insole length, which you will find on all our size guides.

Hunter also recommends that you consider what clothing you are likely to wear with your boots when measuring. Think about which socks or trousers you will wear with the boots, and if you can measure with these items that will give you the most accurate measurements for wear. If you are unable to measure with the clothing you are likely to wear, we suggest allowing 0.5cm with your measurements.

We stock both infant and junior size 4 wellington boots; please ensure you have chosen the appropriate size before purchase to avoid disappointment.

Please note that the children’s size 4 and women’s size 4 boots have significantly different leg heights and therefore the children’s design will not act as a tall boot on an adult. The children’s boot will therefore finish around the widest point of an adult leg. This means the children’s size 4 may be more snug around the calf than the women’s, despite having the same calf width measurements.

This is because:
Children's Size 4 Leg Height: 34.5cm
Women's Size 4 Leg Height: 37.5cm
